Following the release of the FY 2026 Administration for Community Living (ACL) Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) State Partnership Program (SPP) Notice of Funding Opportunity (NOFO), NASHIA is pleased to offer a Member Only Learning Session to support members as they prepare their applications.
 
This session is intended to complement the ACL informational webinar. While ACL's webinar provided the official overview of the funding opportunity, NASHIA's discussion focused on practical grant writing considerations, strategies for developing competitive applications, and key issues for states as they work to address the priorities outlined in the NOFO.

This session feature the Grassroots Project team as they introduce a new Toolkit developed by Collective Insight in partnership with the Human Services Research Institute. The Toolkit is designed to help State Teams strengthen and expand meaningful engagement with people with lived experience in Medicaid-related work.

In addition, NASHIA provided a staff update about various federal policy topics.

This session explored the critical importance of strengthening partnerships between brain injury organizations and epilepsy partners to better support individuals living with both conditions.

This session provided a focused exploration of recent findings from the National Core Indicators – State of the Workforce: Aging and Disabilities (NCI-AD™) and National Core Indicators State of the Workforce for IDD (NCI-IDD SoTW)® reports followed by early 2026 federal updates from NASHIA staff. 

In addition, NASHIA provided a staff update about various federal policy topics.

We’re excited to share a recording of NASHIA’s 2025 Annual Membership Meeting. This gathering was a special opportunity for members to come together, reflect on our progress, and look ahead at the priorities shaping the year ahead.

During the meeting, we heard important updates from NASHIA leadership, learned about key initiatives and advocacy efforts, and connected with fellow members who share a commitment to improving services and supports for individuals with brain injury.

This session highlighted how brain injury programs are uniquely positioned to contribute to—and benefit from—NWD initiatives, ensuring more inclusive and accessible systems for individuals with brain injury and other disabilities.

In addition, NASHIA also provided updates on the federal and legislative landscape, including updates on funding opportunities and appropriations.
