Laurie is a former speech-language pathologist with over 30 years of experience serving individuals with acquired neurological communication and cognitive disorders. During her time with CBIRT, Laurie served as PI/PD for Oregon’s TBI State Partnership grant where they have focused on training and advocacy projects targeting underserved populations (e.g., people with brain injury who are homeless; those living in rural/frontier communities).
She has also directed three NIDILRR-funded grants in which training products for frontline care providers were developed and evaluated (e.g., Staff TBI Skill Builder).
