Service Delivery
DHS provides funding from general revenue to the Brain Injury Association of Rhode Island to provide information and referral services. Rhode Island does not have a TBI-specific waiver, but more than 700 persons with TBI access services from five other waivers. A new Habilitation Waiver is expected to serve as many as 25 persons with TBI.

HRSA-Funded Projects
Rhode Island's three-year Implementation project has addressed the issues raised by the State's TBI Planning Project to build an infrastructure that will enable access to quality services statewide for individuals with TBI. The current grant is focused on improving individual and family coping skills and knowledge in order to better access culturally competent and appropriate services, improve existing provider quality and competency and to build in-State capacity for TBI-competent services not currently available.
