Join NASHIA

NASHIA welcomes membership by state government agencies, state government employees, retired state government employees, supporting organizations, and all individuals who are interested in what happens in the field of brain injury nationally and at the state level. All members are entitled to receive newsletters, publications produced within the joining year of membership, notification of meetings, and a discount for registration at the annual State of the States in Head Injury Meeting. In addition, NASHIA provides Technical Assistance and consultative services. Click here for more information about NASHIA.

One of our key goals is funding for TBI programs authorized by the TBI Reauthorization Act. NASHIA will continue to be at the forefront to ensure funding levels needed to support and sustain state TBI programs as well as other to expand opportunities through other pertinent federal laws, agencies and programs.

State Government Agencies and Employees:

State Agency Membership ($1,000)

State Agency Membership is reserved for a State agency or multiple agencies within a State, Washington, D.C. or Territorial government that are involved with head injury. This membership includes four (4) representative memberships ( $1200 value ) designated by the agency or agencies. State Agency Membership is the only membership level with the ability to transfer membership to another representative within the membership year. States, Washington, D.C. or Territories may purchase multiple State Agency Memberships and representative members may reside within various agencies.

Full Individual State Employee Membership ($300)

Full Individual State Employee Membership is available to any individual employed by a State, Washington, D.C. or Territorial government, to include program directors, program staff, emerging leaders, those with interest in head injury and more.

Retiree Membership, Individual ($175)

Retiree Membership is for individuals who have retired from service with a State, Washington, D.C. or Territorial government and are not currently employed by a Supporting Member organization. This unique tier of membership is for those interested in continuing their legacy in the field of head injury and mentoring emerging leaders in State or Territorial governments.

Benefits for State Agency, Full Individual State Employee, and Retiree Memberships:

  • Vote for Officers at the annual membership meeting.
  • Opportunity to participate in, vote, and lead task forces and committees (*Restrictions apply to participation in the Finance Committee).
  • Eligibility to serve on the Board of Directors (*Retiree Members can hold Office as an Emeritus member only).
  • Network with other State leaders, community-based organizations and businesses nationwide.
  • Receive support and national resources from NASHIA staff to bolster efforts within a State.
  • Assist in steering public policy.
  • Enjoy reduced registration rates for NASHIA’s annual State of the States in Head Injury conference and fee-based trainings.
  • Receive regular online publications, including: Washington Weekly, Capitol News, and the Monthly Membership Message.
  • Gain awareness of news and issues relevant to head injury.
  • Benefit from a collective voice and representation to address issues related to head injury.
  • Professional development opportunities.

Supporting Individuals and Organizations (Non-State Agencies):

Individual Associate Membership, Non-State Government ($200)

An Individual Associate Membership is for individuals employed with a business or organization (except for State or Territorial governments) with an interest in prevention, public policy, treatment, rehabilitation, community-integration and service coordination within the field of head injury. Those who may be members in this category would be administrators and program staff of national and community-based non-profit organizations, medical and rehabilitation providers, researchers and business owners with state and federal contracts.

Student Membership ($50)

Student Membership is for individuals who are currently enrolled in a high school or post-secondary institution (transcript verification required). Students with an interest in head injury will benefit from networking with leaders in the field and learning more about becoming a future leader.

Supporting Organization: (Choose from For-Profit $1500 or Non-Profit $1000)

Supporting Organization Membership is for non-State agencies, organizations, or corporations with an interest in prevention, public policy, treatment, rehabilitation, community-integration, and service coordination within the field of head injury. Each organization membership includes three (3) Individual Associate Memberships as well as special benefits listed below. Examples of agencies, organization, and corporations that participate at this membership level include: non-profit head injury organizations, rehabilitation hospitals, residential service providers, therapeutic service providers, universities, and supply companies (assistive technology, durable medical equipment, etc.).

Benefits for Supporting Individuals and Organizations (Non-State Agencies):

  • Opportunity to participate and vote in task forces and committees (*Restrictions apply to participation in the Finance Committee).
  • Network with other State leaders, community-based organizations and businesses nationwide.
  • Receive support and national resources from NASHIA staff to strengthen organizational efforts and partnerships within your State. Assist in steering public policy.
  • Enjoy reduced registration rates for NASHIA’s annual State of the States in Head Injury conference and fee-based trainings.
  • Receive regular online publications, including: Washington Weekly, Capitol News, and the Monthly Membership Message.
  • Gain awareness of news and issues relevant to head injury.
  • Benefit from a collective voice and representation to address issues related to head injury.
  • Professional development opportunities.
  • Supporting Organization Membership also receive: marketing exposure on the NASHIA website, an annual feature in a NASHIA newsletter and the first opportunity to be a sponsor at the annual conference.

Benefactor Member ($2,000 + )

A Benefactor Member is a person or organization/business/association with interest in prevention, public policy, treatment, rehabilitation, community-integration, and service-coordination within the field of head injury that recognizes the value of NASHIA’s efforts and contributes $2,000 or more. Benefactors’ generosity will strengthen NASHIA’s mission to assist States in promoting partnerships and building systems to meet the needs of individuals with head injury and their families.
